It probably seems kind of like beating a dead horse to finally post this last chapter after all this time, especially because Chapter 14 actually functions okay as a final chapter. But I still have a big attachment to this fic and I really wanted to end it more or less the way I always imagined ending it since I started the fic over two years ago rather than just give up and call it finished. It'll be interesting to see if I even get many comments, but it was something I just needed to do before I could move on with my life. LOL.
The chapter ended up pretty long so it's posted in two entries, with a link to part two at the bottom of this post.

This was actually unexpectedly more than decent. Maybe I'm easily impressed this time because this is the only one of the books which I like very much, though I did actually enjoy the first movie in a fun and weird way that only a fan like me who's in the "I can't get out of still caring about this as much as I'd like to" camp could; I saw it twice but just never posted any kind of review for it. But still, by contrast Chris Weitz's handling of the story makes Twilight look even more bad, if that's possible.

Notes: This actually started as a drabble for the anonymous drabble contest at SOB, and obviously it ran away with me and got way too long. Other people can come up with the loveliest things under 500 words, but this seems to prove once and for all that I just plain fail at such things. But I guess it ended up being less inspired by the specific Death Cab lyrics chosen for the prompt than it was inspired by the whole song and wouldn't really have been appropriate as a contest entry anyway.
I'm not completely sure how I feel about this one yet. It's a little...different. LOL.

I know I'm not the only HP fan who sometimes does the "Let's pick random characters from anything and figure out what Hogwarts House they'd be in" game. A long time ago I realized I've never recommended anything by ophelietta, which is insane because she's definitely one of my favorite Twilight fic writers, and here I am finally getting around to doing it. She's moved on from Twilight and doesn't write for this fandom anymore, which means I'll have to continue to rave about her stories for a long time so that newcomers to the fandom don't miss out on her work.

This one hauntingly portrays one of the most tragic possibilities of the alternate ways Bella's story could have ended, all presented in the helpless outside point of view of Jacob which makes it that much more heartbreaking. What I like a lot about this fic is it doesn't treat the reader like an idiot and easily explain everything that's going on. I remember when I first read it, I actually had to think twice about some parts of it to understand what exactly it was implying had happened or was happening, and that made it especially effective and disturbing when I got it.

Notes: So I've barely cracked open Breaking Dawn yet and decided I'm more interested in getting this finished first. I'd made it a goal to have this done by the time it came out since new canon can destroy everything and all. But at the time of my last update I'd been burning myself out consistently working on this fic for six months, and my heart just can't be in Twilight all the time. I'm sorry you guys have had to wait so long.
This chapter and the one more remaining one have a lot of things that I really wish didn't need so many words to get through, and I'm kind of worried that everything left is going to seem like an overly long epilogue. But I hope the ending at least comes close to being worth the wait.

I'm leaving LJ land early because I'm hitting the road tomorrow and while all the other Twilighters are freaking out about the book I'll be too busy rocking out at this to even think about it, much less go anywhere near a computer and risk getting (any more) spoiled.

If anyone out there is wondering what the hell is happening with my unfinished Twilight fic, I guess it's pretty obvious without saying I've had a very long period of feeling extremely uninspired and kind of bored with the thing. But I still have every intention of doing the final two chapters of WMTM, and I'm sure once I get back and have the chance to read BD it will finally give me the needed motivation (whether because it's actually awesome or so unbelievably bad that it just makes me feel the need to re-dignify these characters as much as I possibly can in my mind).
