It probably seems kind of like beating a dead horse to finally post this last chapter after all this time, especially because Chapter 14 actually functions okay as a final chapter. But I still have a big attachment to this fic and I really wanted to end it more or less the way I always imagined ending it since I started the fic over two years ago rather than just give up and call it finished. It'll be interesting to see if I even get many comments, but it was something I just needed to do before I could move on with my life. LOL.
The chapter ended up pretty long so it's posted in two entries, with a link to part two at the bottom of this post.

Summary: When Bella returns from Italy after failing to save Edward, Jacob isn't sure if he can do anything to pull her out of her state of numbness this time.
Notes: This actually started as a drabble for the anonymous drabble contest at SOB, and obviously it ran away with me and got way too long. Other people can come up with the loveliest things under 500 words, but this seems to prove once and for all that I just plain fail at such things. But I guess it ended up being less inspired by the specific Death Cab lyrics chosen for the prompt than it was inspired by the whole song and wouldn't really have been appropriate as a contest entry anyway.
I'm not completely sure how I feel about this one yet. It's a little...different. LOL.

Notes: I think I made this fairly easy to understand for anyone who hasn't seen the TOS episode it's based on. I also had to change a few things like the Platonians' exact motivations for humiliating the characters (because the prompt is awesome but the whole thing kind of falls apart if everything's still dependent on Bones agreeing to stay there because he just wouldn't allow certain things to happen because of him...ahem). Also, I swear I'm not evil, and I promise the whole fic is not as dark as the first half.

Notes: This is one of several BSG WIPs that was one of my lowest priorities to finish until recent events have renewed my interest in anything relating to the Zak-Kara-Lee history. This was started long before "Daybreak" and is a totally-not-canon AU, but it's full of flashbacks and is probably inevitably going to be influenced in some small ways by the lovely, shiny new canon.

Notes: So I've barely cracked open Breaking Dawn yet and decided I'm more interested in getting this finished first. I'd made it a goal to have this done by the time it came out since new canon can destroy everything and all. But at the time of my last update I'd been burning myself out consistently working on this fic for six months, and my heart just can't be in Twilight all the time. I'm sorry you guys have had to wait so long.
This chapter and the one more remaining one have a lot of things that I really wish didn't need so many words to get through, and I'm kind of worried that everything left is going to seem like an overly long epilogue. But I hope the ending at least comes close to being worth the wait.
