My "Quality Pledge"
I find lots of stories all the time that I really like, but only those that I absolutely, adoringly fall in love with are rec'd here. I will never to post a link to a story with lots of nekkid skin and no plot, no matter how hot I think it is. Competely unbelievable fluff that is cute but comes close to insulting my intelligence also doesn't fit into my standards.
Don't get me wrong - I think fanfic authors who just write the fun and plotless NC-17-rated fics offer as valuable a contribution to the fandom world as those who pay more attention to making their work a little artistic. Some people are in fandom just for that stuff, and I'm still glad they're here. But that's not what this place is for, because it seems that the former kind of fanfiction is what most often does not get as much deserved attention.

- The deal with spoilers: I don't give warnings for any spoilers, but I will never put big spoilers for a work that has recently been released in a post outside of an LJ-cut. To be safe, just don't click on cuts for entries relating to a particular fandom if you haven't finished or aren't up to date on that book series/show/etc.
- If you ever have no idea what I'm talking about, consult My Dictionary of Fandom Terminology.
- Besides writing, other things that I post in this journal are music mixes, reviews for books and movies, and basically anything that I feel relates to writing or the arts enough to have here.
- I go back and forth between fandoms in phases. If you added me because you like Queer as Folk but I seem to be posting nothing but Harry Potter-related stuff lately, please do not de-friend me under the impression that I've moved on from your fandom and will never again post anything relevant to it. Although some fandoms could become so innactive that I would no longer be finding much more new stuff to rec for it, few of mine seem to have reached that point, and I almost never consider myself to be "done" with a fandom.
- If you're here reading my own writing, please do not hesitate to express any criticisms you have or even point out mistakes. I will not be offended. I have almost everything beta-read, but sometimes some typos escape even through that filter.
- Like the things I rec? Leave the writers feedback. That's what I do this for.
